BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Winners of three straight, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team wraps up a three-game homestand tomorrow night, March 3, with a non-conference bout against John Carroll University. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
The Titans moved to 3-1 on the season after picking up wins over Aurora (23-9) and Alma (24-11) over the weekend. The Blue Streaks enter Tuesday with just one game under their belts, an 18-8 win over Wittenberg, Feb. 22.
IWU's dominating showing saw sophomore
Rick Smith (Frankfort, Ill.-Lincoln Way East) and junior
Will Harris (Bloomington, Minn.-Holy Angels) sweep the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's weekly awards.
Smith racked up 11 goals over the two-game span, and now ranks 23rd nationally. He also provided six assists. On the other end of the field, Harris continued his strong play, making 25 saves.
Tuesday will mark the fifth all-time tilt between IWU and JCU. Illinois Wesleyan holds a 4-0 lead in the all-time series, having most recently defeated John Carroll, 17-13, in University Heights, Ohio, March 10, 2019.
