Men’s Lacrosse Prepared for Alma in Non-Conference Bout

Game is scheduled for Feb. 29 at noon

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team is set to play against Alma College Saturday, Feb. 29 at noon inside Tucci Stadium as the first leg of a doubleheader with the IWU women's lacrosse team. 

IWU stands at 2-1 after a 23-9 victory over Aurora, Wednesday, Feb. 26. Alma's record going into this weekend is 1-2, with an 18-9 loss at Ohio Northern University last Saturday, Feb. 22, being the Scots last game.

The Titans and Scots have squared off twice, with IWU taking the win both times by a combined score of 56-24. This is the first time Illinois Wesleyan will play host to Alma since 2017.

The Titans rank 12th nationally with 46.33 ground balls per game and 15th in faceoff winning percentage, claiming .733 percent of their faceoffs. Among individual ranks, junior Max Bousky (Peoria, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame) is seventh in ground balls per game (13.67) and 22nd in faceoff winning percentage (.770).

IWU is also 19th nationally with 14.67 caused turnovers per game after causing 24 turnovers against Aurora, Feb. 26. Senior Cristian Torres (Winfield, Ill.-Wheaton North) leads all Titans with seven caused turnovers on the season.
