BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team begins its 2020 season Sunday, Feb. 16, when it hosts Rhodes College in non-conference action. Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m. inside Tucci Stadium.

Sunday will mark the third meeting between IWU and Rhodes all-time, with the series split 1-1. Illinois Wesleyan came out on top at Rhodes in the first meeting, Feb. 17, 2019, with a 12-7 victory. The Lynx later ended the Titans season with a 22-9 setback in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, May 8, 2019.

The Titans, under fifth-year head coach Zach Iannucchi, return six All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin awardees from a team that posted a 16-2 record a season ago. Rick Smith (Frankfort, Ill.-Lincoln Way East), the CCIW's Newcomer of the Year in 2019, earned first team honors along with Daniel Dickerson (Wheaton, Ill.-St. Francis College Prep), and Patrick Murphy (Palatine, Ill.-St. Viator). Max Bousky (Peoria, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame), Ty Collins (West Chicago, Ill.-Wheaton Academy), and Benigno Houser (Hilliard, Ohio-St. Charles Prep) garnered second team selections.

Illinois Wesleyan enters the 2020 season as the preseason favorite in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, having received five first-place votes and 35 points in the poll published by the league office, Feb. 6.
