IWU's Grabarek Repeats as Third Team Google Cloud Academic All-American ®

2019 CoSIDA Division III Men's At-Large Google Cloud Academic All-America® Team

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- For the second straight season, Illinois Wesleyan University senior lacrosse player J.C. Grabarek has been elected to the third team of the Division III Men's At-Large Google Cloud Academic All-America® Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

A may graduate, Grabarek (Bartlett, Ill. / Bartlett HS) had a 3.94 grade-point average as a business (finance) major and is a member of the IWU Investment Club, the IWU Accounting Society and was a financial management tutor.
 
The Illinois Wesleyan career record holder in faceoff percentage, ground balls and games played, he finished this season with a .735 faceoff percentage, winning 183 of 249, and was second on the team with 115 ground balls while scoring nine goals with four assists.
He was named Defensive Player of the Year in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin for the third straight year and is a four-time all-CCIW selection including the last three on the first team.

The selection brings the total to 129 for the number of Illinois Wesleyan Academic All-Americans ® since the program began in 1970. The complete list of IWU Academic All-Americans ® is available here.

The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. The at-large teams for the Academic All-America® program include the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming & diving, tennis and water polo for both men and women, as well as beach volleyball, bowling, crew and field hockey for women, and volleyball and wrestling for men.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution.
