CAROL STREAM, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team had 14 hits but allowed 13 hits, committed four errors and gave up crooked numbers in four innings in an 8-5 setback to Wheaton College on Wednesday, March 27, at Pfund Stadium in Carol Stream, Ill.
The Titans are 7-8 overall with their fifth straight loss and are 0-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Thunder improved to 11-3 overall and are 1-0 in the CCIW.
IWU was in a 4-0 hole after two innings and trailed 6-0 after three. The Titans scored single runs in the fifth, sixth and eighth to close the gao to 8-3 and got two runs in the ninth on a single by junior shortstop

Rory Mulvihill (0-1), the first of eight Titan hurlers, pitched the first two innings and took the loss, allowing four runs on five hits with a walk and two strikeouts.
What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan hosts North Central in a CCIW doubleheader at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 30. The Cardinals, in a quest for their fifth straight CCIW title, are 10-3 overall and 1-0 in the conference following an 11-1 win over Carroll Wednesday.
