Maddie Merritt scored 20 points to lead three players in double figures as the Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team celebrated Seniors' Night with an 83-62 win over Elmhurst College on Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Shirk Center.
The Titans are now 19-4 overall and 12-2 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin with the Bluejays falling to 9-14 overall and 5-9 in the league. Illinois Wesleyan has won seven in a row and 40 of the last 44 games in the series against Elmhurst. The game was tied three times but Elmhurst never led as IWU had the advantage for 38:35 of the 40 minutes.

Sydney Shanks contributed 19 points with six assists and senior
Nina Anderson added 14. Sophomore
Riley Brovelli snagged 12 rebounds as the Titans held a 46-27 advantage on the glass. Senior
Ashley Schneider added nine rebounds while Merritt and sophomore
Raven Hughes each had eight boards.
Illinois Wesleyan shot .588 from the floor in the first half (20 of 34) and finished at .508 for the game (33 of 65) while limiting the Bluejays to .382 from the field (21 of 55).
The Bluejays were led by the 11 points from both Lisa Logan and Marissa Urson and 10 points from Kelly Weyhrich.

Illinois Wesleyan plays on the road against North Central in Naperville on Wednesday, Feb. 13. The Cardinals are 7-16 overall and 5-9 in the CCIW after a 68-59 double overtime loss to league-leading Wheaton on Saturday.
