CHICAGO - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team will make its College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship debut when the Titans take the field versus top-seeded North Park University, Saturday evening, Nov. 9. A win would guarantee IWU's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III men's soccer tournament, which begins Nov. 16.

The Titans made their way to the finals with a 4-1 edge in a penalty shootout after a scoreless draw at North Central College, Wednesday, Nov. 6. Seniors Justin Yaeger (New Lenox, Ill,-Lincoln-Way West HS) and Orion Marty (Addison, Texas-Greenhill School) and junior Bobby Reichert (Yorkville, Ill.-Yorkville HS) converted the first three penalty kicks before senior Patrick Hickey (Des Plaines, Ill.-St. Viator HS) delivered the clincher to secure IWU's trip to the CCIW men's soccer final.

North Park, ranked number 19 in the United Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll, finished the regular season 13-4-1 (6-1-1 CCIW) as the Vikings claimed the top seed for the CCIW tournament. They moved on to the final after defeating Elmhurst College 2-0 at home, Wednesday, Nov. 6.

The first meeting between the two teams, Oct. 12, saw North Park find the back of the net in a 4-0 setback for the Titans. Since then, IWU has been unbeaten in the last six games, outscoring opponents 13-4 over that stretch.

The CCIW Men's Soccer Championship is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the Holmgren Athletic Complex. Links to the live stats and live stream can be found here.
