WHITEWATER, Wis. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's basketball team fell behind early and pulled even in the second half, but ultimately lost its first game of the season against UW-Whitewater 67-55 Saturday, Nov. 23.

Brooke Lansford (Leawood, Kan.-Blue Valley West HS) scored in double figures for IWU, putting in 17 and 10 points, respectively. Junior
Riley Brovelli (Oglesby, Ill.-LaSalle Peru HS) grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Titans, as well as adding seven points of her own. SophomoreÂ
Catie Eck (Springfield, Ill.-Sacred Heart-Griffin HS) scored nine points and registered a team-high four assists off the bench.
The Titans trailed by nine at halftime and as many as 13 in the third quarter, but used a 19-7 run over the final seven minutes to get them to within one of the Warhawks near the end of the third 10-minute period. IWU tied up the score at 52 with 7:42 left in the fourth. However, UW-Whitewater didn't relinquish the lead after that to secure their victory.
Illinois Wesleyan shot 32.8 percent from the floor and went 7-for-19 from beyond the 3-point arc. The Titans forced 21 turnovers against the Warhawks while committing 17.
The Titans travel to St. Louis for the Midwest Challenge to take on Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Saturday, Nov. 30. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
