BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period against Benedictine University and extended the winning score to 4-0 on Thursday, Sept. 13 at Neis Field.

The Titans rallied two more goals in the second period from junior
Flower Edington and senior
Rosie Pettenuzzo. Pettenuzzo provided a long pass to Edington for a breakaway goal at 52:01. Then Pettenuzzo also knocked in her first goal of the season at 59:24 assisted by Howe.
The Titans improved to 3-1-1 while the Eagles fell 2-4-0. Illinois Wesleyan outshot Benedictine 21-3 and had 11 shots on goal compared to one, saved by sophomore keeper
Kelli McCarthy in her third shutout of the season.
What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan will travel to Pella, Iowa on Sunday, Sept. 16, to face Cental College with a 2 p.m. kickoff. The Dutch also have a 3-1-1 record heading into Sunday's match.
