MONMOUTH, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan senior infielder Gino Cavalieri had three hits with a double, a homer and seven runs batted in as the Titans equaled their season-high with 19 runs scored in a 19-8 nonconference win at Monmouth College on Sunday, April 29.
 
The Titans, who scored fve runs in both the fifth and seventh innings and four runs in the fourth and sixth frames, improved to 20-14 overall and the Scots are 22-11-1.
 
Cavalieri's seven RBI is tied for fourth most in an IWU game as three players hold the record with eight. Sophomore centerfielder Nick Figus also had three hits while sophomore Garrett Shea, senior rightfielder Mike Plecki, junior designated hitter Jacob Houghton and junior catcher Seth Palmby each had two hits in a 15-hit Titan attack.
 
Freshman Quinn Gudaitis (3-1), the second of eight Titan pitchers, got the win by pitching a scoreless second inning.

Returning to College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin action, Illinois Wesleyan host North Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, with the resumption of a game suspended on April 10 in the seventh inning with the Cardinals leading 8-4 … The regularly-scheduled series finale will follow the completed game ... The Cardinals are 22-9 overall and 17-2 in the CCIW, tying their program record with 17 league wins.
