MOLINE, Ill. (Sunday, April 22) -- A six-run third inning put Illinois Wesleyan in a 7-0 hole and the Titans could not recover in a 7-4 loss to Augustana College at Swanson Stadium in Moline, Ill., on Sunday, April 22.
The Titans are 9-8 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and 18-12 overall while Augustana improved to 20-10 overall and 8-7 in the conference.
Senior designated hitter
Mike Plecki, senior second baseman
Gino Cavalieri and senior leftfielder
Jake Stewart all had two hits in a 10-hit IWU offense. Cavalieri and Plecki each delivered run-scoring singles in the sixth inning and Cavalieri hit an RBI double in the eighth.
Freshman catcher
Eric Kozlowski had an RBI with a sacrifice fly in the fifth.
The Titans ran through seven pitchers and freshman starter
Quinn Gudaitis (2-1) was tagged for the loss, surrendering four runs on four hits with three walks in 2 1/3 innings.
