BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (April 2, 2018) -- The Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team lost a 13-9 decision to visiting Aurora University at Tucci Stadium on Monday, April 2, in a rematch of teams that last met in the NCAA Division III tournament first round last season.
Aurora University improved to 9-1 overall while Illinois Wesleyan, playing its first game since March 22, now sports a 6-3 record.

GAME RECAP
• The Titans trailed by a 4-1 score early in the second quarter and were down 6-2 at halftime.
• After Aurora had built up an 8-3 lead with 5:03 to go in the third, Illinois Wesleyan scored three straight goals coming from
Alex Doorenbos,
Tanner Nelson (man-up -
Nick Winter assist) and Winter to cut the deficit to 8-6.
• Aurora scored three of the next four goals to claim a four goal lead at 11-7 and the four goals was the decisive margin of victory as IWU was limited to one tally in the final 9:00.
• The Titans committed 16 turnovers to 14 for Aurora and the Spartans held a 16-10 edge in faceoffs won. Aurora also had 43 shots to 39 for IWU.
