Garrett Shea smacked a three-run HR in a seven-run second inning as the Illinois Wesleyan baseball team opened its season with an 11-0 win at Fontbonne in game one of a doubleheader on Friday, March 2. The Titans got a 5-3 win in game two.

In the opener, senior third baseman
Gino Cavalieri had two doubles and two runs batted in and leftfielder
John Bosco also had two hits in a 10-hit attack.

Brune walked none and struck out one in gaining the win.

Freshman
Eric Bennes struck out six in five innings in his first college start to earn the win.
Braden Miller struck out two in the ninth to earn the save. Bosco added three more hits with a double in the second game and freshman catcher
Eric Kozlowski and senior designated hitter
Mike Plecki had two hits and drove home three runs.
What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan stays in St. Louis to play a neutral site doubleheader at 12 p.m. against Grinnell on Saturday.
