2018 CCIW Women's Tennis Championships Results
MOLINE, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan University senior
Sam Robinson finished fourth at No. 6 singles and the team of
Sofia Pinheiro and
Rebecca Rochacz placed fourth at No. 2 doubles in the 2018 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin women's tennis championships, played at the Quad Cities Tennis Centre in Moline, Ill., on Saturday, Oct. 20.
At No. 6 singles, Robinson lost the third place match Saturday to Wheaton's Bethany Hoogerheide, 8-3.
Pinheiro and Rochacz defeated Elmhurst's Rachel Rettger/ Kathryn Wheeler, 8-5, in a consolation semifinal and lost in the third place match by an 8-2 score to Carthage's Natalie Favia and Nia Pham.
Also on Saturday, IWU's No. 3 doubles team of
Alessia Girardin and
Kayleigh Ruffolo lost 8-4 in a consolation semifinal to North Central's Katie McGraw and Tiffany Smolik.
Illinois Wesleyan finished tied for fifth place with Elmhurst with 10 points. Augustana College finished in first with 71 points, followed by Wheaton College with 51 and Carthage College in third with 37.
