BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Sophomore
Justin Yaeger scored one goal and assisted on the other as the Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team defeated Fontbonne, 2-0, at IWU's Neis Field on Wednesday, Sept. 20.
The Titans improved to 3-3-1 overall while the Griffins slipped to 4-3-1.
Yaeger opened the scoring at 19:25 on a cross from junior
Mason Maier, then connected on an assist to sophomore
Doug Ballard on a cross into the box at 83:13 for the Titans' second goal.
IWU outshot the Griffins, 19-13, and had eight shots on goal compared to six for the Griffins. Freshman goalkeeper
Joe Johnson made all six saves.
What's Next?
The Titans play a nonconference game against Greenville University on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Neis Field ... The Panthers are 4-3-0 after a 1-0 win at Illinois College on Tuesday.
