BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team mustered only four hits in an 11-0 loss to Carthage College on Sunday, April 2, at Horenberger Field in a game shortened to seven innings due to the 10-run rule.
The Titans are 9-7 overall and 2-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Red Men leveled their overall record at 9-9 and are 2-3 in league play.
Sophomore leftfielder
John Bosco was the only IWU starter to get a base hit with others coming from
Stephen Billington,
Jonathan Broadbear and
Cody Rogers. The Red Men drew seven walks and had 14 singles in the game that had no extra base hits.
Carthage starter Kevin Tibor (5-0) pitched the complete game, striking out seven and walking four. Illinois Wesleyan used seven hurlers in the game and had a combined eight Red Men strike out. Lefty starter
Nick Huskisson (0-1) absorbed the loss on the mound.
