DECATUR, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan softball team suffered a pair of College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin losses on Wednesday, April 12, falling by 5-4 and 7-2 scores at Millikin University in Decatur, Ill.
The Titans are now 17-9 overall and 2-4 in CCIW play while Millikin improved to 23-9 overall and a first-place 9-1 in conference games.
IWU got in an early 4-1 hole after one inning of game one before rallying with two runs in the third and one more in the fourth on a
Sydney Alery RBI double to tie the issue at 4-4.

Summer Stitt each finished with two hits in a nine-hit Titan attack.

Mackenzie Marquis (6-4) pitched all six innings for IWU, allowing only one earned run on five hits with six strikeouts and three walks. The Titans were guilty of a season-high four errors in the game.
Illinois Wesleyan got a two-run home run from freshman second baseman
Shelby Fulk to take a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning of game two, but the Big Blue collected three sixth-inning runs and four more in the seventh to seal the win.
With Millikin getting 12 hits, IWU was limited to five hits, including the second double of the day from freshman shortstop
Sam Berghoff.

Brea Walker (5-3) took the loss in the circle, going 5 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on eight hits with two strikeouts.
