IWU Men's Lacrosse Loses 13-10 Decision to Connecticut College

BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Illinois Wesleyan men's lacrosse team built up a 5-1 lead in the first five minutes of the game but Connecticut College roared back to score a 13-10 win over the Titans in a game played at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md., on Wednesday, March 15.

The Titans had a three-game winning streak ended and are 3-2 this season while the Camels won for the third straight time and are 3-1.

After building up the 5-1 lead with 10:23 left in the first quarter, the Titans led by a 6-4 score after one period and by a 9-8 score at halftime. Connecticut took its first lead of the game at 10-9 with 4:18 left in the third quarter and, after a goal by sophomore Will Rossi tied the game at 10-10 with 3:09 remaining in the third, the Camels scored the final three goals of the game to seal the win.

Rossi had three goals and junior Nick Winter added a pair of goals with two assists to lead Illinois Wesleyan. Senior Michael Julius had a goal and a team-high three assists.

Connecticut College won 19 of the 26 faceoffs and had 47 ground balls to 38 for Illinois Wesleyan. The Camels also had a 43-33 edge in total shots with each team taking 22 shots on goal.

Senior Steven Laduzinsky made nine saves in goal for IWU and Jameson Hill made 12 saves for Connecticut. The Camels were led by Jordan Foster and Jackson Kleintz with three goals each.

Illinois Wesleyan continues its spring break trip with a game at John Carroll University on Friday, March 17, at 2 p.m. (ET) in University Heights, Ohio.
