BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Limited to just three hits in the game, the Illinois Wesleyan baseball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Millikin at Jack Horenberger Field on Friday, April 22nd.
The Loss drops IWU to 16-14 overall and 8-5 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while Millikin improves to 15-23 and 4-9 in the CCIW.
Using single runs in the first, fifth, and ninth innings, Millikin pieced together nine hits and took advantage of three walks issued by the IWU pitching staff to take game one of the three-game series. Illinois Wesleyan's best chance at pushing runs across came in the bottom of the seventh when the Titans had runners on first and second with two outs, but Millikin would end the inning with a strikeout to thwart IWU's chances of scoring.

Mike Plecki each recorded a hit in the game for the Titans, while starting pitcher
Sean Coonan (2-2) took the loss after throwing six and two-thirds innings and striking out four while giving up two runs.
