ST. LOUIS, Mo. –  After winning the first game, 4-2, the Illinois Wesleyan baseball team lost game two by a 7-4 score to Washington U. on Saturday, March 26, at Kelly Field at Irv Utz Stadium in St. Louis, Mo.
 
The Titans are 7-8 overall while the Bears improved to 15-9 overall and are 7-1 at home this season.
 
In the opener, 
Nick Huskisson improved to 4-0 as he threw seven innings and struck out seven while allowing two runs on five hits. 
Brian Henry worked the final two frames to collect the save, his first of the year.
 
Senior centerfielder 
Adam Glogovsky and first baseman 
Tim Smyk each had three hits with Smyk collecting two RBI and junior shortstop 
Jarrod Juskiewicz powered a solo home run in the fourth inning. IWU scored single runs in the third, fourth, fifth and ninth and outhit the Bears, 11-7.
 
In game two, the Titans jumped out to a 4-0 lead in their first at bat on four hits and an error. Sophomore second baseman 
Gino Cavalieri reached on a fielding error, went to second on a hit by Glogovsky and both runners moved up a base on a bunt single by Smyk. With the bases loaded and one out, Juskiewicz doubled to left center to clear the bags, then he came home on a single up the middle by Huskisson.
Sophomore lefthander 
Mitch Goll went the first four innings and allowed two unearned runs on seven hits. Sophomore 
Matt Banaitis (0-2) took the loss, allowing three runs on four hits in the fifth. Titan hurlers were stung by five fielding errors, four by infielders, that led to three total unearned runs.
 
What's Next?Illinois Wesleyan has a week between games, playing their next game as their first of the season at Horenberger Field and first in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, hosting Elmhurst in a 1 p.m. doubleheader next Saturday, April 2.
