TERRE HAUTE Ind. – The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team got wins over Baldwin Wallace (by a 10-1 score) and Rose-Hulman (2-1) in games played at the Fightin' Engineer Invitational at Art Nehf Field in Terre Haute, Ind.

The two victories improved the Titan record to 6-5. Baldwin Wallace fell to 5-8 and Rose-Hulman fell to 5-4 this spring.

Illinois Wesleyan scored a run in the top of the ninth to win game two. Freshman
Ben Manski led off with a pinch-hit single and, with one out, stole second. He came home on a single by sophomore second baseman

Nick Brune (2-0) turned in a brilliant start, working eight innings and allowing one run on six hits with seven strikeouts. Sophomore
Ben Rashid earned his second save in working a scoreless ninth.

In Saturday's first game against Baldwin-Wallace, what was a pitchers' duel over six innings broke into a runaway win for the Titans after Illinois Wesleyan scored five in the seventh inning and added four more in the eighth. Illinois Wesleyan took a 1-0 lead after three innings before the Yellow Jackets would tie the game after six. The Titans got all five seventh inning runs with two outs, taking full advantage of two Baldwin-Wallace errors in the inning.Â
