BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team scored once in each half to pick up a 2-0 shutout win over Central College on Sunday, Sept. 13 in their 2015 home opener.
With the win, the Titans picked up their first victory of the year and improve to 1-2-1 on the year while the visiting Dutch fall to 3-3.
Illinois Wesleyan controlled the pace for much of the first half before finally breaking through on a goal by junior

Jimmy Connolly assist to take a 1-0 lead at the 37:32 mark.
The Titans would come out of halftime looking to add to their 1-0 lead, and did so with a free kick goal by senior co-captain
Ross Knezovich off of a Central College foul to add an insurance goal and make the score 2-0 in the 68th minute (67:37).
IWU outshot the Dutch 16-6 including a 8-3 advantage in shots on goal. Senior
Erick Eklin started the game for the Titans playing the entire first half before
Craig Kym took over and played the final 45 minutes of action.
