Men's Lacrosse Win Streak at 7 Following 16-4 Win

BLOOMINGTON, Ill - The Illinois Wesleyan men's lacrosse team extended its win streak to a record-high seven while improving to 2-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin with a 16-4 victory over Elmhurst at Tucci Stadium on Saturday, April 11.

IWU is now 9-4 overall and in first place in the CCIW with a 2-0 mark while the Bluejays fell to 6-6 and 1-1 in conference play. 

The Titans jumped out to a 4-0 lead and led 4-1 afer one period of play before taking a 9-2 halftime lead. Elmhurst would be limited to only two goals in the second half of play as well as the Titans would outscore the Bluejays 7-2. 

Alex Lamber let all scorers with five goals and two assists while Michael Julius and Evan Mok-Lamme each scored three goals. Tim Smith and James Maibuecher would also get in on the Titan scoring attack, netting two goals each with Colin Daly rounding out the IWU offense with one goal.

Sophomore Steven Laduzinsky improved to 6-1 as he allowed four goals and made eight saves in 45 minutes. Mark Dezell also saw action between the Pipes for the Titans, playing the final 15 minutes and making three saves. 

IWU outshot Elmhurst, 44-29, and were successful on all 18 of their clear attempts. The Titans forced the Bluejays into 23 turnovers and turned one of two extra-man opportunities into a goal. 

What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan will look to stay undefeated in CCIW play with a road game at Dubuque on Wednesday, April 15. First faceoff will take place at 7 p.m.
