Titan Men's Lacrosse Loses at Frostburg State

FROSTBURG, Md. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's lacrosse squad fell into a 5-0 hole after the first period and lost by a 15-5 score to Frostburg State in western Maryland on Monday, March 9.

The Titans are now 1-3 in 2015 while the Bobcats improved to 5-0 and are ranked No. 22 in this week's USILA NCAA Division III Coaches' Poll.

Sophomore attacker Tim Smith had two goals to lead Illinois Wesleyan while sophomores Michael Julius and Evan Mok-Lamme and freshman Alex Lambert each cashed in one. Freshman Nick Winter provided two assists with Julius and James Maibucher each providing one helper.

IWU was outshot 39-20 and Frostburg State was successful on 14 of 15 clears and had 36 ground balls to 27 for IWU. Sophomore Steven Laduzinsky made 10 saves and allowed 13 goals for IWU and Mark Dezell made three saves and allowed two goals.

For the Bobcats, Devin Colegrove had five goals and an assist and Nick Stalley scored four goals with an assist.
