Box Score 2 CHICAGO, Ill. – The No. 6-ranked Illinois Wesleyan softball team scored 13 runs in each end of a doubleheader sweep over North Park on Saturday, March 28, at the Holmgren Athletic Complex in Chicago.
IWU is now 14-2 overall and 2-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while North Park fell to 1-11 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
In the first game, IWU senior lefthander
Chloe Montgomery improved to 11-0, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out three and walking two.
Megan O'Donnell pitched the final scoreless inning, giving up three hits.Â

Freshman designated hitter
Amanda Lack went three-for-three at the plate and driving in three runs while teammate
Laura Bonds went four-for-four and had four RBIs. Senior centerfielder
Hannah Bowen also went three-for-three at the plate and scored three runs while junior outfielder
Mary Rankin went two-for-two with two walks.Â

In the second game, the Titans scored early and often, pounding out 16 hits to go along with the 13 runs while allowing only one Viking hit.

IWU scored three runs in the first and four in the second before tacking on six in the third to put the game out of reach early. Six Titan batters recorded multiple hits in the game, led by Smith and Bowen with three hits each.Â

Lack went two-for-two in game two with a double and three runs batted in while Bonds added to her perfect batting average on the day, recording two hits and adding two RBI's.Â

Jenna Noland (2-0) earned the win, giving up only one hit and one walk while striking out nine in four innings of work.
Mackenzie Marquis pitched the final frame and had a strikeout.Â

What's Next?The Titans will play at home on Sunday, March 29, hosting host Wisconsin-Stevens Point at 1 p.m. It is "White-Out" day to raise awareness for lung cancer and to assist a former teammate of two members of the Titan coaching staff. The color for lung cancer awareness is white so all fans are encouraged to wear white shirts to demonstrate their support at the doubleheader against Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
