Fourth Quarter Sends Men's Lacrosse to 13-10 Loss

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's lacrosse team took a 10-6 lead into the fourth quarter, but was held scoreless in the final 15 minutes leading to a 13-10 loss at Adrian College on Saturday, March 14th.

The Titans are 2-5 overall while the Bulldogs improved to 5-1.

IWU trailed 5-4 after the first 15 minutes of play before rallying to take an 8-6 halftime lead over the Bulldogs. The Titans would hold Adrian scoreless in the third period to extend their lead to 10-6 heading into the final frame. Adrian would score a flurry of seven goals in the final 15 minutes of action including four from Eric Fannell, who led all players with seven goals for the game.

Sophomore Colin Daly led IWU with three goals scored well Alex Lambert and James Maibuecher each had two goals apiece. Tim Smith, Michael Julius and Evan Mok-Lamme all had one goal to round out the Titan scoring attack.

Adrian held a 15-12 advantage in face-offs won over the Titans in addition to a 32-28 advantage in ground balls. IWU was guilty of 16 turnovers while Adrian had 17 turnovers.

Goalie Mark Dezell had seven saves in the game.

What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan plays in their first-ever conference match against Carroll Univeristy on Tuesday, March 17th. First face-off will take place at 4 p.m. at Tucci Stadium.
