ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Playing at a neutral site for the first time all season, the No. 7-ranked Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team saw their quest to return to the Final Four end in a 2-1 overtime loss to No. 23-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater in an NCAA Division III women's soccer sectional game at Francis Field in St. Louis on Sat., Nov. 21.
The Titans end their season with a single-seaon school record 20 wins and a 20-3-0 record while the Warhawks advance to tomorrow's NCAA sectional final to play host Washington U.-St. Louis at 1 p.m.
UW-Whitewater found the back of the net just 3:19 into the game to become only the third team all season to take a lead on the Titans. Junior
Emily Snider would find an equalizer right before the half in the 43rd minute (42:17) to knot the game at one going into halftime.
IWU outshot the Warhawks 6-1 in the second period as neither team would be able to fire one past the goalie, sending the game into extra time. In the first overtime session, Illinois Wesleyan would fire off two shots before Marie Lesparence headed one past the Titan keeper for the game winner at the 94:16 mark.

Katie Denney played the entire game and lost for only the third time all season, finishing with a 20-3-0 record.
