BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team snapped a six-game losing streak by topping North Park, 89-72, at the Shirk Center on Saturday, Jan. 17.

The Titans improved to 7-9 overall and got their first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin win against four losses while North Park fell to 9-7 overall and 1-4 in the CCIW.
The 89 points was a season-high for the Titans and the win helped IWU avoid a seven-game losing string for the first time since the 1991-92 season.Â
In the first half, the Titans trailed by as many as 10 points at 34-24 with 6:44 before half. But Illinois Wesleyan chipped away at the lead with late baskets from
Kaitlyn O'Boye and a 3-pointer by freshman
Rebekah Ehresman to grab a 45-43 lead at the break.

In the second half North Park fell behind by seven but got back within two at 54-52 with 14:41 remaining before the Titans went on an 8-0 run to get a 62-52 lead and held a double digit advantage the rest of the way. Â
Illinois Wesleyan outrebounded North Park 41-33 and forced 25 turnovers while committing only 20. IWU scored 40 points in the paint and had 28 second chance points, compared to 30 and 7 for the Vikings. Â
