BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan had 13 hits and Molly McCready allowed only two hits while striking out eight as the Titan softball team took a 14-0 win over Anderson in the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament at IWU Field on Saturday, May 10.

Illinois Wesleyan has won a school-record 20 straight games and has a 39-5 record, tying the record set in 2001 (39-14) and 2012 (39-8) for wins in a season. The Titans will play at 12 p.m. on Sunday (May 11) against a team to be determined later Saturday. That team would have to deal IWU two losses to prevent them from advancing to next weekend's Super Regional at a site to be determined against the winner of the Chicago Regional.

On Saturday it was all Illinois Wesleyan from the start as IWU scored three in the first, added single runs in the second and third and two in the fourth. A seven-run sixth inning capped the day.

Senior leftfielder Danielle Burge had three hits with a home run and drove in three runs while senior designated player Allie Riordan had three hits and knocked in a pair of runs. Senior catcher Sara Daley had a pair of hits, including a double, with three RBI and junior rightfielder Hannah Bowen had two hits.

McCready improved to 21-2 this season and in her career is 58-15. The season record for wins is 22, set by Christy Engel when she was 22-5 in 2009. The career mark for wins is 62 by Engel (62-29, 2007-10). McCready is already the school's all-time leader in shutouts (20) and strikeouts (615).

NOTES: Sara Rogers had a double, giving her 16 for the season and one off the record of 17 set by Keri Leach in 2013 ... Historically, IWU teams now have a 25-24 national tournament record (.510 winning percentage) in their 13th NCAA appearance ... The finals, hosted by Texas-Tyler, will be held May 22-27 at Suddenlink Field in Tyler, Texas ... Anderson was the last team to beat Illinois Wesleyan back on April 12. In that game, the Ravens scored three in the bottom of the eighth inning to win, 6-5.
