Box Score BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Despite a five goal and two assist night by
Michael Julius, the Illinois Wesleyan men's lacrosse team lost a 17-9 game to Whittier (Calif.) at Tucci Stadium on Saturday, April 5.
The Titans are 7-2 in the school's first-ever season while the Poets improved to 6-3.
Whittier, who outshot IWU by a 53-28 margin, scored seven first quarter goals and led 11-3 at halftime. The Poets held a 48-25 lead in ground balls and won 28 of the 30 faceoffs in the contest. IWU was 2-for-9 in extra man opportunities while Whittier was 1-for-5.
Evan Mok-Lamme scored two goals for IWU while
Tim Smith and
Connor Coffey each added one. Assists came from
Jordan Gagnon,
Tyler Rauwolf and
Andrew Schreiber.

Steven Laduzinsky made 17 saves while his Whittier counterpart Nathan Kleponis made three saves.
