Box Score BELOIT, Wis. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's lacrosse team ended its first regular season with an 8-6 record after a 10-9 loss at Beloit College on Saturday, April 26.
The Titans led 9-6 with 2:22 remaining in the game before the Buccaneers scored four goals, including one with 20 seconds to play and the game-winner with 14 seconds remaining in the contest. All four of the final goals were at even strength.
The game was tied at halftime 4-4 after IWU had fallen behind 3-0 in the first quarter.
Illinois Wesleyan got four goals from
Evan Mok-Lamme and two goals from
Andrew Schreiber.
Tim Smith,
Tyler Rauwolf and
Max Porter all had one goal each and
Jacob Perry had three assists while Smith and
Michael Julius had assists.
The Titans outshot Beloit, 36-34, and IWU had 35 ground balls to 33 for Beloit. The Bucs committed 17 turnovers to 11 for IWU but Beloit claimed 16 face-off wins to eight for Illinois Wesleyan.
Goalkeeper
Steven Laduzinsky had seven saves for the Titans and Trevor Kenahan made seven saves for Beloit.
