BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The No. 17-ranked Illinois Wesleyan softball team took a pair of wins over No. 21-ranked Chicago by scores of 9-1 (in six innings) and 3-0 at IWU Field on Saturday, April 19, a day reserved by the team to honor veterans and currently serving military personnel.

The Titans are now 28-5 overall with the non-league wins while the Maroons are 18-5.

In the opener, IWU trailed 1-0 befiore scoring three in the third and adding five more runs in the fourth. Senior Sara Daley, who finished with two hits and four runs batted in, smacked a two-run homer in the third, followed by a solo homer by senior Allie Riordan. Daley is now tied for fifth all-time at IWU with 13 career home runs. Senior Sara Rogers delivered a two-run double in the five-run fourth inning as IWU scored on four hits with an error.
Senior Molly McCready (15-2) went the distance, striking out two and allowing four hits with a walk. She now had 568 career strikeouts, closing in on the school record of 600 by Christy Engel (2007-10).

In game two, Rogers led off the game for IWU with her team-best fifth home run of the year to give the home team all the runs they needed. The other four Titan hits were singles. Chloe Montgomery (3-0) pitched seven innings and scattered seven hits with one walk and two strikeouts.
