Box Score 2 ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The No. 17-ranked Illinois Wesleyan softball team worked 12 innings for a 4-1 win in game one and won the second game 5-1 to claim two key conference victories over Augustana at Rock Island, Ill., on Friday, April 18.
The Titans improved to 26-5 overall and 8-2 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Vikings slipped to 25-9 overall and 6-4 in the conference.
In the first game, IWU scxored three in the top of the 12th to earn the win. Senior shortstop
Amanda Fazzari led off with a double and went to third on a ground out. With two outs, senior
Sara Rogers had an infield hit to score Fazzari and junior
Hannah Bowen reached on an error. Senior
Sara Daley walked to load the bases ahead of a two-run single to left by senior designated hitter
Allie Riordan.
Senior
Molly McCready (14-2) got the win but needed relief help in the 12th from sophomore
Jenna Noland, who picked up her second save of the year. McCready pitched 11 innings and allowed one run on four hits with 14 strikeouts and a school-record 11 walks.
In game two, IWU trailed 1-0 in the third before scoring two in the third and adding solo runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth with a 10-hit attack. Fazzari had the only two-hit game for the Titans. Noland (10-3) pitched the complete game and scattered seven hits while striking out seven.

It is designated as "Military Service/Veteran's Day" at IWU softball field, recognizing those currently serving and veterans from each branch of the military. The Titans will be wearing camouflage uniforms and batting helmets to show support for our veterans and honor their service and, prior to the game, the team will recognize each branch of the military and ask those currently serving and veterans to stand and be recognized prior to the National Anthem.
