Titan Lacrosse Loses First Game of 2014

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's lacrosse team lost for the first time ever, falling by an 11-9 score to Olivet College at Tucci Stadium on Saturday, March 29.

The Titans are 6-1 overall while the Comets improved to 6-5.

IWU got four goals from Tim Smith and three goals from Michael Julius., who also had three assists. Tyler Rauwolf had a goal and an assist and Evan Mok-Lamme had a goal. Andrew Schrieber had three assists for IWU.

Illinois Wesleyan's Steven Laduzinsky made eight saves in playing all 60 minutes in net.

The teams were tied at 5-5 at halftime and Olivet scored one third period goal and added five more in the final quarter to grab an 11-7 lead with 3:37 to play. Late IWU goals by Julius and Rauwolf got IWU back within two.

Illinois Wesleyan will host Hope College on Friday, April 4, at 7 p.m. for its next game.
