MONMOUTH, Ill. – The No. 18-ranked Illinois Wesleyan softball team swept Monmouth College in a doubleheader by scores of 9-0 and 9-1 on Wednesday, March 26 in Monmouth, Ill. The two victories improve the Titans' record to 11-2.
 
Monmouth drops to 8-5 on the season.

In the opener, IWU banged out 10 hits in the game shortened to five innings, with senior leftfielder Victoria Whitaker, senior designated hitter Allie Riordan, first baseman Sarah Platt, senior shortstop Amanda Fazzari, and sophomore centerfielder Kyley McKeown each having two hits. Whitaker and Sara Rogers each had two runs batted in.
 
Titan senior starting pitcher Molly McCready (5-1) was credited with the win, striking out seven batters and only allowing two hits in five innings.
 
In the second game, the Titans had 13 hits to the Fighting Scots' five. Chloe Montgomery (1-0) earned her first win of the season in the circle, striking out nine and walking three.

McKeown led off the game with a home run while third baseman Cassidy Tarpey had two doubles while Rogers, Platt and Fazzari each had one two-base hit.
