ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The first-year Illinois Wesleyan men's lacrosse team extended its record to 6-0 with a 20-7 win at Fontbonne University on Tuesday, March 25.
The Griffins fell to 2-8.
Tim Smith and
Michael Julius each scored six goals to lead Illinois Wesleyan offensively and Smith had three assists while Julius provided two.
Evan Mok-Lamme had five goals and two assists.
Colin Daly (one goal, one assist),
Tyler Rauwolf (one goal, one assist),
Andrew Schreiber (one goal) and
Jacob Perry (two assists) also were in the scoring column for the Titans.
The Titans led 8-4 at halftime before scoring eight goals in the third period to get a commanding 16-4 lead.
Steven Laduzinsky improved to 6-0 as he allowed four goals and made seven saves in 45 minutes.
Ty Tuey allowed the Griffins' other three goals and made five saves in the final quarter.
IWU outshot Fontbonne, 50-37, and were successful on two of three extra-man opportunities.

In the NCAA Division III national statistics through games of March 23, only 10 Division III teams in the nation were unbeaten, including IWU, and the Titans' 16.60 scoring average was sixth in the country ... Smith was tied for 17th with 3.60 goals per game.
What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan will play its second home game in its history with a 2 p.m. start against Olivet College on Saturday, March 29, at Tucci Stadium. The Comets were 4-4 prior to a home game vs. Dubuque on March 26.
