BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – After honoring seniors Lexi Baltes, Colleen McMahon, Taylor Reaber, Katy Seibring, and Shelby Jackson, the Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team snapped No. 7 Carthage's 13-game win streak and handed the Lady Reds their first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin loss, 69-57, Saturday (Feb. 15) night at the Shirk Center.
 
The Titans improve to 16-7 and 10-2 in the league, while Carthage stands at 20-3 and 11-1 in the league.
 
IWU and the Lady Reds remained tight offensively the entire first half, but a 27 percent field goal percentage from IWU helped Carthage hold on to the 32-26 lead going into the halftime break.
 
Carthage controlled a bulk of the second half, but with 6:59 on the clock in the second half, the Titans tied up the game, 49-49, followed quickly by a three-pointer by Baltes to steal the lead 52-49, spurring a momentum shift and 13-4 run within five minutes to seal IWU's fate.
 
IWU forced 25 turnovers and narrowly outrebounded Carthage, 40-39.
