CHICAGO, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan won a pair of games by 2-0 and 2-1 scores at the U. of Chicago on Tuesday (April 16). The Titans improved to 22-7 while the Maroons fell to 12-10.

Game One
♦ Sophomore Chloe Montgomery hit a two-run pinch-hit home run in the top of the seventh to provide the game's only offense. IWU had five other hits, all singles, in the contest.

♦ Junior Molly McCready improved to 10-3 in the circle as she struck out 15 and allowed just two hits in game one. In tossing her 11th career shutout, McCready is No. 2 all-time with 404 career strikeouts at Illinois Wesleyan, trailing only Christy Engel, who fanned 600 from 2007-10.

♦ Illinois Wesleyan scored both runs in the fourth. Senior Emma Clark led off with a walk and, with one out, Montgomery singled through the left side, moving Clark to second. Crane then doubled to left center to chase home Clark and junior second baseman Erin Sweeney singled through the right side to score Brianna Mormann, who had run for Montgomery.

♦ Senior Alyssa Vorel scattered seven hits and struck out five in moving her record to 7-2. She was touched for a home run by Kristin Lopez for the Maroons' only tally.
