ORLANDO, Fla. - In only her second college start, Illinois Wesleyan freshman
Jenna Noland threw a no-hitter in an 8-0 second game win after
Alyssa Vorel allowed just four hits in a 6-1 opening win over Marietta in a twin-bill at the Rebel Spring Games in Orlando, Fla., on Wednesday (March 13).
The Titans improved to 6-1 with the two wins and earlier in the day were placed at No. 4 in the Division III rankings done by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
♦ Montclair State (4-0) retained its No. 1 ranking, followed in the top five by No. 2 Emory (25-1), Texas-Tyler (13-1) at No. 3, Illinois Wesleyan at No. 4 and NFCA Division III Leadoff Classic Gold bracket champion Trine (11-1). Tyler-Texas and Trine were handed their only losses of the year by Illinois Wesleyan.
