Mia Smith got her 300th career victory as Illinois Wesleyan earned an 83-67 win over Augustana at the Shirk Center on Tuesday (Feb. 19).
♦ The Titans improved to 18-7 overall and finish 11-3 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while Augustana's season ended with a 7-18 overall mark and 2-12 in the league.
♦ In her 15th season, Smith has a career record of 300-115 (.721) and was the national coach of the year in 2012 as the Titans won the NCAA Division III championship.
♦ The Titans were outrebounded 42-39 in the contest but forced 31 Augustana turnovers while committing only 18. IWU turned the Viking turnovers into 35 points.
♦ Illinois Wesleyan held a 38-26 lead at halftime, their largest first half lead, and extended the lead to as many as 20 points on to occasions in the second half, the latest at 60-40 with 11:30 to play. Augustana cut the lead to as few as eight points at 65-57 with 6:00 to play but could get no closer.
