BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The No. 12-ranked Illinois Wesleyan football team lost for the first time in 2013, dropping a 46-17 decision to No. 4-ranked North Central at Tucci Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 2.

The Titans are 7-1 overall and 4-1 in the CCIW while the Cardinals improved to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in the league.

North Central had 82 plays compared to 60 for IWU and the Cardinals racked up 527 yards of total offense (337 passing, 190 rushing) while the Titans had a total of 283 (247 passing, 36 rushing). The Cardinals had a commanding possession time of 33:35.

Senior Rob Gallik completed 26 of 43 passes for 247 yards and a second quarter, 10-yard TD to senior Tate Musselman.

Senior Alex Garvey made seven catches for 70 yards and Musselman had six grabs for 68 yards. Senior Sean Conley also made four catches for 39 yards.

Senior Devonte Jones had 22 yards rushing on nine carries and had a 4-yard first quarter TD. Sophomore Artie Checchin and Jones had IWU's long run from scrimmage of nine yards.

The Titans were led defensively by junior linebacker Connor Klein, who had 10 solo tackles, assisted on two more and recovered a Cardinal fumble.
Senior linebacker Chris Simms had 11 total tackles and junior defensive back Tyrell Bolden made eight total tackles.

What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan travels to Rock Island, Ill., to face Augustana next Saturday. The Vikings are 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the CCIW after a 28-0 league win over Carthage Saturday.
