ELMHURST, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team got away to a quick start and won its fourth straight game with a 67-51 decision over Elmhurst on Saturday (Jan. 26) at R.A. Faganel Hall in Elmhurst.

♦  In winning for the 16th straight time in the series vs. Elmhurst, Illinois Wesleyan improved to 13-6 overall and 6-2 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. Elmhurst falls to 9-10 overall and 3-5 in the CCIW.

♦  IWU scored the first seven points of game and held the Bluejays scoreless for the first five minutes. The Titanssprinted to a 23-4 lead in the game's first 11 minutes as Elmhurst converted only one of its first 12 field goal attempts. The Titans led 35-15 at halftime.

♦  The Titans had a 44-17 lead early in the second half before Elmhurst ran off 14 straight points to close to within 13 points at 44-31 with 13:18 to play. The Bluejays could get no closer than 12 in the second half.

♦  Elmhurst committed 31 turnovers compared to 13 for the Titans and Elmhurst also held a 39-32  rebounding edge.
