ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Three Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball players had double-digit performances against Augustana Wednesday (Jan. 23) night, as
Katy Seibring lead the Titans offensively with 21 points, en route to an 82-62 victory.
The Titans improve their record to 12-6 and 5-2 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. The Vikings drop to 6-11 overall and 2-5 in the league.
♦ IWU jumped out to an early lead in the first, leading by double-digits just a couple minutes into the game when
Michelle Bilek hit a jumper to bring the score at 17-7.
♦ The Titans maintained their advantage over Augie throughout the first, closing the half with a five-point lead, 36-31.
♦ IWU exploded offensively in the second, jumping ahead by 20 points with just under nine minutes left when
Emily Beoletto made a free throw to bring the score to 62-42. The Titans led by a game-high of 25 points with 3:46 on the clock.
♦ IWU concluded the game 42 percent from the field, 34.5 percent from the three-point area, and 87.5 percent from the free throw line.
♦ The Titans outdid the Vikings in the rebound category, 44-37, and Augie had four more turnovers than their visitors.
