2012 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament Results

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Sophomore Allie Riordan drove in all four runs and junior Alyssa Vorel scattered six hits and struck out six as No. 8-ranked Illinois Wesleyan beat Elmhurst 4-2 in the opening game of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin tournament.

The top-seeded Titans (34-6) will play No. 3-seed Millikin (23-16) at 8 p.m. at IWU Field. The Big Blue got a 5-3 win in 10 innings over Carthage in their first game. Click on link above to see revised tournament schedule.

The Titans opened the scoring in the first inning when junior shortstop Courtney Martin walked and freshman leftfielder Audra James reached on a bunt single but Martin was erased at third.
James stole second and junior centerfielder Keri Leach reached on a walk. With two outs, Riordan delivered a two-run single.

After Elmhurst tied the game 2-2 in the second, the Titans scored two unearned runs in the fifth. With one out, Martin walked, James singled and Leach reached on an error by the first baseman. Again with two outs Riordan singled sharply to right field to score Martin and James.

Vorel improved to 12-2 as she allowed two unearned runs.

Millikin got two home runs from Kathleen Campbell, including the game-winning two-run homer in the 10th to down the Lady Reds.
