BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The top-seeded Illinois Wesleyan Titans defeated UW-Eau Claire, 2-1 on Friday (May 11) in the second day of play at the Bloomington, Ill., Regional of the NCAA Division III Softball Tournament. The Titans scored two runs, on seven hits, with no errors and UW-Eau Claire scored one run, on four hits, committing two errors.
Illinois Wesleyan remains undefeated in the tournament and improves to 38-6 on the season. The Titans advance in the regional and will next play at 2 PM on Saturday against No. 2-seed Linfield, an 8-0 winner in five innings over Anderson.
The Blugolds fall to 33-13 and will face Carthage College (35-9) in an elimination game at 10 AM on Saturday.

Molly McCready (18-3) earned the win in seven innings as she allowed one run, on four hits. McCready struck out six Blugold batters and walked three. Titan junior rightfielder
Stephanie Polich was 2-for-2 at the plate and scored the game-winning run. Junior shortstop
Courtney Martin was 2-for-4 with a run batted in.
Starting pitcher Emma Wishau (15-7) took the loss in six innings of work for UW-Eau Claire. Wishau allowed two runs, including one earned run, on seven hits, with five strikeouts and four walks. Amanda Fischer hit a solo home run for the Blugolds', as she went 1-for-3 at the plate.

Katie Bruins. The Blugolds tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the fourth inning when Fischer belted a solo home run.
The Titans scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the fifth inning as Polich hit a leadoff single and scored three batters later on a fielder's choice that was hit by junior centerfielder
