BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - In game one, sophomore Molly McCready threw a no-hitter and in game two, Kaity Crane had a school record 7 RBI as IWU won 10-0 and 12-4 in a doubleheader sweep of Millikin at IWU Field on Monday (April 9).

McCready struck out 12 in the six-inning gem as she improved to 8-2 and the Titans, now winners of nine straight games, jumped to 20-3 overall and 4-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. Millikin fell to 12-12 overall and 1-3 in the CCIW.

The Titans got four runs in the first inning and closed the game out with six in the bottom of the sixth, capped by a grand slam home run over the right centerfield fence by junior shortstop Courtney Martin.
Junior centerfielder Keri Leach and sophomore designated hitter Allie Riordan each had two hits to lead the nine-hit attack.

McCready's no-hitter was the first at IWU since Alyssa Vorel against Kean on March 18, 2011 (9-0 win in five innings), and the first against a CCIW foe since Christy Engel vs. North Central on April 15, 2010 (11-0 win in six innings).

With three hits with a home run, Crane's seven runs batted in topped a record of six shared by Michelle Bradley (vs. Benedictine, March 25, 2004) and Katie Frawley (North Park; April 4, 2006).

Leach, Riordan, sophomore first baseman Jessica Toth and Vorel all had two hits. Vorel (7-1) was the winning pitcher, working the first four frames and allowing one run on four hits.

Junior third baseman Emma Clark homered in both ends of the twinbill, giving her six for the season and 16 in her career. The IWU season record is 10 and the career standard is 21.

Illinois Wesleyan travels to Augustana for a CCIW doubleheader on Wednesday (April 11) at 4 p.m.

NOTES: With the Monday victories, IWU has a 20-win season for the 19th straight year.
