ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan sophomore
Molly McCready took a perfect game into the seventh inning as the Titans got a 5-1 win at Augustana in the first game before losing by a 10-6 score in a doubleheader in Rock Island, Ill., on Wednesday (April 11).
McCready (9-2) finished with a two-hitter as she struck out 13 as the Titans won for the 10th straight time in the opener. With the split the Titans are 21-4 overall and 5-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. Augustana is 18-6, 3-1 CCIW.
McCready, whose no-hitter was broken up by Jenna Teson's lead off double in the seventh, got all the offense she needed with a two-run home run by junior centerfielder
Keri Leach staked IWU to a 2-0 lead in the third.

Kaity Crane doubled home sophomore first baseman
Jessica Toth, who had singled. IWU added two more in the sixth as Toth doubled and came home on a Crane single. Crane would eventually come around to score on a single by junior shortstop
Courtney Martin.
In game two, the Vikings solved IWU pitching by scoring the most runs (10) and most hits allowed (14) by theTitans in a game this year. Junior
Alyssa Vorel (7-2) allowed seven runs on nine hits in four innings and Augustana touched McCready for three runs on four hits and three walks in two innings.
Offensively IWU had 10 hits and, trailing, 10-2, plated two runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh to draw within four. Crane, the current CCIW "Player of the Week", had a pair of hits with a home run and drove in four runs.

Emma Clark also had two hits for the Titans.
IWU will play four games as it hosts a six-team tournament on Saturday and Sunday with the Titans playing the tournament's opening game at 10 a.m. against Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
