BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team built up a 25-point halftime lead and were in control the rest of the way in a 72-58 win over North Park at the Shirk Center on "Pink Zone" Saturday night (Feb. 4).
The Titans improved to 16-5 overall and 9-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Vikings ebbed to 8-13 for the season and 2-8 in league play.
The game was tied at 4-4 early before the Titans went on a 15-0 run to claim a 19-4 advantage with 14:01 to go in the first half. IWU held a 48-23 lead at intermission.

Michelle Bilek was the team's rebound leader with eight as the Titans held a dominant 45-30 edge in the category.
The Titans shot a blistering .571 in the first half (20 of 35) but cooled in the second half (.286) and finished by shooting .444 from the field in the game (28 of 63). IWU made 5 of 18 3-pointers and 11 of 14 free throws.
The Vikings, who got 12 points out of Antionette Collman, shot .368 (21 of 57) from the field and made 6 of 17 from beyond the arc. North Park's Sarah Peterson corralled a game-high 13 rebounds.
The Titans host North Central at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday (Feb. 8).
