BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team sandwiched North Park's four goals, opening and closing the game, but falling to the Vikings, 4-2, at Neis Field Wednesday (Oct. 24) night.
The Titans now pose a 11-4-0 record, sitting in third of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin standings at 4-2. North Park (10-2-4, 4-0-2) is second.
IWU's
Angelo Catalano scored the first goal of the game, shooting the ball atop the Vikings' Tim Ahlberg to put the Titans up, 1-0.
However, North Park scored four consecutive goals against IWU's
Andrew Reed, spanning a little over 10 minutes, to jump away with the lead, 4-1.
Just before the end of regulation,
Adam Flaugher knocked one in the net to conclude the game for the Titans at a two-point deficit.
Reed had two saves for the Titans, while the Vikings' Ahlberg had four.
IWU will return to the field Saturday (Oct. 27) against Carthage in Kenosha, Wis., at 3:30 p.m.
