Vorel Tosses No Hitter as Titans Split in Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. - Illinois Wesleyan sophomore Alyssa Vorel pitched a five-inning no-hitter in a 9-0 win over Kean as the Titans split their final two contests at the Rebel Spring Games on Friday, March 18. IWU lost to Ramapo, 5-4, and ended their trip with a 7-3 record.

Sophomore Alyssa Vorel struck out seven and walked two in her no-hitter. She got offensive support from sophomore shortstop Emma Clark, who hit a two-run homer in the third, and sophomore Katie Bruins with a grand slam home run in the fifth.

The Titans were limited to five hits against Ramapo with two coming from Clark, who had a triple and a run batted in.

Freshman Victoria Whitaker took the pitching loss, allowing five runs, three earned, on eight hits. Freshman Molly McCready struck out six in three innings of relief.
